Master Bedroom
I guess like a lot of people over time the gagetry in our sleeping quarters has evolved and gone hi-tech. Originally we had a 20″ CRT, a SVHS video recorder and a Pioneer SD-DVD player.
Now we have the following:
- Samsung 32″ LCD - not Full HD, but good enough for bedroom viewing.
- Topfield 5000 Black Panther PVR - limited by SD-Only. Still the best PVR IMHO. Switched to Windows 7 Media Centre and the Linksys for all FTA content.
- Toshiba HD-XE1 HD-DVD Player - purchased as a backup for my first one in the HT, but better used occassionally than left in a box!
- Panasonic BD-35 Blu-Ray Player - previously downstairs, adding Blu-Ray playback as almost all new movies are BD.
- Linksys DMA2100 MCE Extender - connects up to the HTPC downstairs. Mainly used for watching ripped DVDs and those programs only available on HD that the Topfield cannot record
- Icebox (Asus WiFi router that syncs IceTV epg to Topfield)
- Sharp SVHS Video Recorder - very legacy device. Used once in a blue moon, if that. Never used so removed.
